Thanksgiving Tips from the Siblings
During Thanksgiving it’s difficult to avoid the mountains of food that clutter the table. The smartest way to ensure that you will not overeat is to fill your plate with lots of proteins. Before starting to eat, look at your plate to check whether you have enough proteins to fill you up and try to limit the carbs if possible. Turkey is a perfect protein and is more satisfying for a diabetic in comparison to the stuffing, bread rolls, and pies. Lastly, before getting up to get seconds, wait fifteen minutes to make sure that you are truly hungry. Acknowledging that it takes time for the food to get to your stomach and for your brain to receive the “I’m full!” signal could save you a bunch of carbs!
We hope you had a delicious Thanksgiving weekend!
