Dexcom G5: Receiver Becomes a Relic of the Past

The newest release of the Dexcom G5 has entirely eliminated the need for the Dexcom receiver. Now, numbers are transferred directly from the transmitter to the smartphone app called Clarity. Dexcom's new slogan, "I always know," emphasizes the incredible safety enabled by this new update and also highlights that the G5 system is compatible with the cloud and can be viewed on a computer. Dexcom's continual innovations and improvements are important for the T1D community because they prompt the FDA to approve these technologies quickly so that they can reach the diabetics who truly benefit from them.
